Sick of fighting with your kids to wear clothes? This is the post for you!

Most kids hate scratchy clothing. Some kids hate seams and tags, others hate buttons and zippers. If you have a child on the Spectrum or a kid with sensory or tactile sensitivity, finding clothes that avoid all these things can be a nightmare.

Late last year, I was lucky enough to win an auction for a Soft dress for Poss (it’s this cute one, just here). Not only is this dress super cute, it’s incredibly soft, has flat seams and no tags, making it an instant favourite. So when Seams Away (the exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributer for Soft) held a sale last week (which I found out about on their Facebook page), I jumped at the chance to pick up some basics to add to Poss’ wardrobe, an extra 3 t-shirts and a pair of their new undies to try out.

The parcel arrived yesterday afternoon and Poss stripped out of her uniform immediately and put on the undies and a t-shirt. She then insisted on wearing them to bed. Her first question when she woke up this morning? “Can I wear these undies to school today?”…..um no – but I might have to get you some more….

As soon as she got home from school this afternoon, she stripped off again and put the ‘outfit’ back on. Winners for sure!

Soft is getting ready to release their new winter range (which will be available in March), with a focus on both punk and preppy styles and influences directly from the run-way. There are some really funky pieces for both girls and boys, along with heaps of unisex pieces.

I personally can’t wait to order one of the new Peter Pan collar dresses or maybe one of double-breasted pea coats… and I will be stocking up on some more of the basics!

The Soft range is developed and designed by two mums from New York, who share a common goal to design clothing that can address a child’s unique sensory needs without sacrificing style. The range is available exclusively through Seams Away in Australia and New Zealand, which is run by the lovely Kate. She established Seams Away when she tired of the ongoing battles in getting her kids to wear socks… I know that feeling well!

So, if you are looking for an alternative to fighting with your kids to wear clothes – you have to check out the Seams Away website.

This is not a sponsored post. I received a free pair of undies from Seams Away, however have paid for all other products from them. Poss honestly and simply just loves wearing their clothes – so I thought I would share them with other parents, in the hope your kids would love them too!

  3. Oh how I wish I’d come across their range a couple years ago! My middle bubba boy is sensitive to clothes (seams on socks and clothes, tags) and my littlest is showing similarities. I could’ve saved myself so many dressing challenges. Great to hear Poss is enjoying her comfy new threads!

    • She so is Nat – glad you found them now! They do have some super cute boys stuff… slightly crushing on the t-shirt with the braces/suspenders on it… Not sure I can get away with that on Poss though! 😉

  4. Hi, I have just ordered some of these for my Miss 5 who has battled with socks & underwear most mornings for a few years (the tags or scratchiness on the underwear and the “lumps” in her socks, which are always the tiniest bit of cotton thread). I found seams away through the same auction you referred to (I was auctioning an item) & after I found them I just couldn’t believe there were so many others with children with tactile sensitivity. I’ll show my daughter the picture of your daughter in this post as it might encourage her even more when her delivery arrives.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • Fabulous to hear others love their product – they really are great aren’t they?! They are launching some new colours in their underwear range as well – can’t wait for them to come through! Hope the photos work with your daughter, let me know how you go 🙂
