You may have heard the ignorant comments made by an ignorant rapper last week on twitter. You may not have. Either way, the amazing, proud, beautiful posts that have come out of that split second tweet and have been posted all over the internet can only be a good thing.
So, to add our voice to the many already singing loudly… this is what autistic looks like in our home.
From way back when she was just a little bundle of baby…
Doing all the normal things that little girls do…
Hitting all the same milestones…
And being the sunshine in our lives…
Full of giggles and laughter…
Always quick to give affection and a smile…
Caring and gentle, learning how to share her world…
Climbing to higher heights than we could have ever hoped for…
And surrounded by friends who love and adore her, just the way she is…
It’s there yes, but it’s only a small part, a tiny part, yet an integral and special part, of our story.
And we won’t let anyone, ANYONE, insult her with one single word, spat in 140 characters or less.
